The Moodwatchers one-day psychology seminar returns to Castlebar on Saturday May 15 at the Harlequin Hotel from 10am to 4pm.
It drew a large attendance four years ago and it is expected to attract significant interest again. The self-help psychology seminar will be delivered by psychologist Shane Martin, who designed the Moodwatchers course.
The seminar is aimed at empowering people towards a better quality of life. Through the teaching of practical self-help psychology, the seminar highlights our potential to bring about positive change in our lives. Its objective is to educate us about the need to invest in our mental wellness and teach us evidence-based strategies for enhancing mood and reducing stress.
Moodwatchers draws a lot from the new psychology called positive psychology, which is the scientific study of happiness.
By identifying and using many of the strengths and traits that we already possess we can cultivate happiness.
Moodwatchers also draws from the principles of cognitive behaviour therapy. This most effective and widely researched therapy demonstrates the link of thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.
It shows how mood is very much influenced by the type of thinking we engage in — by how we make sense of ourselves, others, and the world.
Registration will take place in the Harlequin from 9am to 10am. The cost is €80 which is inclusive of folder, materials, resource CD, certificate of attendance, tea/coffee break, and light lunch. More information and registration form is available at www.moodwatchers.com or by emailing [email protected]
