Major construction work is to commence at McHale College, Achill, according to Mayo Minister of State Dara Calleary TD.
The Department of Education and Science has sanctioned funding for McHale College to provide four new general classrooms and office space to accommodate the amalgamation of Scoil Damhnait and McHale College.
The building unit of the Department will be in contact with the school authorities shortly in relation to the amount of funding approved.
“This is very welcome news for the staff and students of the school and will allow a more seamless transition in relation to the amalgamation of the two secondary schools,” Minister Calleary said.
