Today very few barbers have the specialised barbering skills required to develop their business. The barber has to be highly skilled and creative in all aspects of barbering to meet the needs of the clients and create the varied range of styles that are of fashion today.
Increasing interest in the male grooming industry and business opportunities can be seen by the range of trends and hair care products available for men.
The Mayo College of Hairdressing wants to address this demand and help ensure that the traditional skills are not lost and is offering Levels 2 and 3 City & Guilds specialist barbering diploma. Whether you are an experienced hairdresser or just starting out on your career, Mayo College of Hairdressing has the course to help you develop your potential in barbering.
Due to the current climate, there has been a high demand in barbering as a career change. The City & Guilds Level 2 course runs for 20 weeks with a maximum of 12 students per group covering traditional and modern cutting techniques and cutting facial hair unit accreditation. Progression on to Level 3 will include hot towel shaving. Barbering workshops are also available. For more information on any of the courses log onto www.hairdressingmayo.ie or call one of the team on 094 906 0963.
