GMIT Castlebar gets ready for masked ball

GMIT Castlebar is getting ready for its highly anticipated end of year ball in Breaffy House Resort on Thursday night April 29. The ball is a celebration of the GMIT Castlebar students’ achievements past and present. Put together by the Students’ Union, this is a night not to be missed.

The Castlebar college has come together with local music promoter Finbar Hoban to bring you Joe Fury and The Hayride live on the night.

Joe Fury and The Hayride play a combination of styles that range from rockabilly and swamp to bluegrass and vintage country allowing you to jive, swing, and rock and roll the night away.

The band were recent special guests on the Ryan Tubridy Show when it was broadcast live from Pat Cohan’s Bar in Cong. Joe has appeared on UK TV show Stars in their Eyes, The Village Hall at Electric Picnic 2009, Volvo Ocean Yacht Race, and even spent time on the road with a circus. In the last few years Joe has dedicated his time to creating ‘The Hayride’, pulling together musicians from various eclectic backgrounds including Waterford’s legendary guitarist Eddie Walsh, from Australia on drums Jamie O ‘Neill and with Simon Farrell on Big Bass Fiddle.

The band are currently recording their debut album which will be released in July. So get your dancing shoes on for a big party as Finbar Hoban Presents... in association with the GMIT Students’ Union Castlebar Joe Fury and The Hayride.
