Taking the fear out of giving birth

The ‘Curse of Eve’ has its grip on all the Eves of the modern world. We are told that giving birth has to be painful. Or at least that is what we believe because we were told by our mother, aunt, friend, we saw it on television, the midwife and the obstetrician talk about it – so who are we to even dare thinking it might be different for any of us?

Beliefs surrounding childbirth are deeply imprinted in most women’s subconscious minds. And beliefs directly influence our nervous and hormonal system, and they are not part of our logical thinking. But it is possible to establish a new belief of a gentle, comfortable, and peaceful birth in such a surrounding, relaxing into a labouring body while giving birth. You can learn how to do it, how to remain focused and relaxed at the same time, no matter what is going on around you.

Most fears around birth are irrational and they can easily be transformed into a much more self-empowering state by techniques like hypnosis, timeline therapy or EFT (emotional freedom technique ).

In the last few years methods like hypnobirthing and other related techniques have spread all over the world. Best ambassadors are the mothers and fathers who were able to experience such a birth for their baby themselves. You can read some of those birth stories at www.amazingbirthing.com
