The Fine Gael Spokesperson on Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs, Deputy Michael Ring, has welcomed the setting up of a Young Fine Gael branch in Achill. The launch was well attended and chaired by Deputy Michael Ring and also in attendance was Susie O’Connor, Fine Gael National Youth Officer.
This is the fourth branch to be set up in Mayo and the Achill branch will operate independently of the senior branch.
Tommy English spoke at this meeting and mentioned his delight at being the first chairperson of the Young Fine Gael Branch in Achill. He said the ambition of Fine Gael is to ensure that they are in Government after the next General Election. Mr English said that the branch would be in full support of Dep Ring being re-elected to Dáil Éireann. Mr English also said that he is looking forward to welcoming new members to the branch.
The officers elected were Tommy English (Chairman ), Emmet Callaghan (Secretary ), Michael McLoughlin (Treasurer ) and Sean Cafferkey (PRO ).
