The average house price in Mayo currently stands at €199,002 according to the most recent survey published by daft.ie
Daft, which is Ireland’s leading property website, has just published its house price report for the first quarter of 2010. According to the report the average house price in Mayo has fallen by 25.5 per cent since peak levels back in May 2007. The survey has found that prices in Mayo have continued to drop, with prices down by 11.1 per cent from the same time last year, with the first quarter of 2010 seeing a two and a half per cent drop from the last quarter of last year.
The report also breaks down average current prices for a house in Mayo, with a one bedroom coming in at €121,000, a two bed at €140,000, and a three bed at €174,000, while a four bedroom house costs €228,000, and a large five bedroom costs €292,000.
Mayo has seen the lowest percentage fall in the price of houses compared to its provincial neighbours with Roscommon, Sligo, and Leitrim all seeing drops of more than 30 per cent since peak time, while Galway county has seen the average house price drop by just under 30 per cent and Galway city has seen a massive 38.5 per cent drop in the price of houses according to the Daft survey.
