Mayo students in youth organisation awards

Three students from Mayo are in the final eight in competing in the No Name Club, National Youth Organisation’s 27th Annual Youth Awards this Saturday in Kilkenny.

Graham Sweeney from the Achill No Name Club, Niall Walsh from Ballinrobe No Name Club, and Holly McAndrew from Erris No Name Club have been selected by an adjudicating panel who have made outstanding contributions to No Name Club, his/her club, community, school, and family.

No Name Club, established in 1978, is run by and for young people providing alcohol and drug free events and activities. It has experienced unprecedented growth in the past 18 months, increasing its number of clubs and membership. The organisation is now supported by about 500 adult volunteers and in excess of 2,000 young hosts who organise activities and events such as discos, variety shows, leadership coaching, awards, and more for young teens in an alcohol and drug free environment.
