Spa Sula offers pampering treatments for those with cancer

The four star Spa Sula, of the Westport Plaza and Castlecourt Hotel Resort, has just unveiled its new selection of very special, personalised, cancer care treatments, which are now available from the spa.

Technique trainer and founder of International Spa and Salon Services, Christine Clinton, has personally trained all the Spa Sula therapists in these unique and innovative techniques.

The Lindiskin products, of which Ms Clinton is the sole distributor in Ireland, were developed in the USA specifically for clients experiencing the discomfort or common side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and medication associated with cancer. The range was developed with the input of an advisory board compiled of oncologists, dermatologists, and cancer patients.

Treatments that aim to alleviate their stress, pain, and discomfort have been selected and Spa Sula will be using the unique Lindiskin products, which contain no harsh chemicals or irritants, delivering botanical and antioxidant benefits directly to the skin, in all these treatments.

Touch therapies for cancer clients is endorsed by The Irish Massage Therapists Association and complementary therapies are recommended by the Irish Cancer society, to help with specific side effects.

“The range of cancer care treatments we will be offering is very much tailored to suit the individual needs of the cancer survivor,” said Sue Henehan, manager of Spa Sula.

“We will do a full consultation with the cancer survivor on arrival, where their needs and discomforts are discussed. Common side effects of chemotherapy are skin rashes, hand and foot syndrome, and peripheral neuropathy.

“We feel that it is very important for people dealing with cancer to know that these treatments are available to them, and of course anything we can do to make them feel relaxed and pampered during an otherwise difficult time is hugely rewarding for us,” Ms Henehan added.
