A 25-year-old man who, when intoxicated, failed to comply with a garda direction was convicted and fined €200 at Ballina District Court this week.
On March 16 2010 at 1.25pm, gardaí were called to an incident on Ferran Terrace where Thomas Conroy, 64 St Patrick’s Estate, Ballina was observed to be “extremely intoxicated” and, when directed to leave the area, returned.
John Gordon, solicitor for the defendant, said that the single, unemployed man had been drinking with a friend that day but when his friend’s husband returned home Conroy was kicked out of the house.
Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined the defendant a total of €200.
