Jeep driver collided with oncoming vehicles

The driver of a jeep who caused a traffic accident in Bohola was convicted of careless driving at Kiltimagh District Court last week.

On May 15 2009 at 3.30pm Kieran Henry, Tubberscarden, Tubbercurry was driving on the N5 in Bohola towards the Charlestown direction where on a left turn he crossed onto the other side of the road and collided with two cars.

The 34-year-old married carpenter, who had no previous convictions, told the court that he took his “eye of the road for a split second” and collided with the oncoming car. When he impacted with this car he lost control of his vehicle and hit another oncoming car.

Judge Mary Devins dismissed the dangerous driving charge and convicted and fined Henry €350 for careless driving.
