A man who was observed slumped in his parked car by an off duty garda was convicted of drink driving at Ballina District Court this week.
On August 23 2009 at 7.25pm Garda Des McCann observed a man in a parked car slumped in the driver’s seat outside a house in the Bonniconlon area. Jerome O’Gorman, Annalea, Tubbercurry, Sligo, was arrested and a breath sample provided showed 95mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
The defendant, who has no previous convictions and who recently lost his job at Ireland West Airport Knock was convicted and fined €700 by Judge Mary Devins and disqualified from driving for three years.
