Mayo Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony is calling on Mayo County Council to ensure that hedges along national and secondary roads in the county are cut.
Deputy O’Mahony said he has received numerous complaints from constituents that uncut hedges along secondary roads are having an impact on road safety.
“I understand that it’s not easy for Mayo County Council to cut every hedge along every road in the county but there does appear to be a significant number of hedges left untouched this year on the minor roads. It’s a safety issue for people using those roads and I’m hoping that the council will see fit to rectify the issue as soon as possible,” he said.
