The Choose Life-Reach Out group in Mayo is currently running an art competition for schools in the area to re-design a support card for the Choose Life-Reach Out campaign. The art competition is open to 13 to 18-year-olds to redesign a support card and flyer for public circulation.
“The winning entry will reflect the core message of the Choose Life-Reach Out campaign, which aims to support communities, including young people, in encouraging resilience in difficult times,” said Liz McHale, clinical nurse specialist in addiction, Mayo Mental Health Services, HSE West, and chairperson of Choose Life-Reach Out. “The group’s primary focus is on awareness, training and education on mental health awareness, and suicide prevention.”
Conditions of entry: The support card should be no bigger than A4. It must be the original work by young person. Its logo must include the words Choose Life-Reach Out. Entrants must be between 13 and 18 years old. Pictures of the winner will be used in promotional materials.
All entries must include the following information: name of young person, address, phone number, and age.
The closing date for entries is April 2. The winner will be announced at a public information evening on positive mental health in the Downhill Hotel, Ballina, on April 30. All entries should be sent to Bridie McAndrew, HSE, Ballina Health Centre, Mercy Rd, Ballina.
