Odours on Altamont Street
Councillor Keith Martin raised a concern with Altamont Street residents about an odour problem which is emanating on the street.
Fellow councillors also raised their concern from the sewerage smell and they were informed by town engineer Patrick Corcoran that the county engineer was investigating the problem as the area is under the remit of Mayo County Council.
Allotments
There has been no substantial progression is the provision of allotments in the town according to town clerk Ann Moore as only one tender was submitted to provide the land for an allotment.
This tender did not meet the assessment requirement and other options are now being looked into.
Twin Town visit
A delegation of 35 people from Plougastel will visit Westport from April 17 to 24.
