No Sunday opening at Turlough House due to industrial action

The National Museum of Ireland - Country Life, Turlough Park, is the latest public service to be affected by public sector industrial action.

Arising from industrial action by the Civil, Public and Services Union (CPSU ), the director of the National Museum of Ireland, Dr Patrick F Wallace, has confirmed that the museum will be closed on upcoming bank holidays and Sundays due to the union’s ban on overtime.

The museum was closed to the public on St Patrick’s Day and this is to be followed by closures on Sunday March 21, Sunday March 28, Sunday April 4 (Easter Sunday ), Sunday April 11.

According to a statement issued by the museum director, the board and director of the National Museum of Ireland “greatly regret this inconvenience”.

While the museum will be closed on the above dates, the grounds of Turlough Park and the museum café will be open as usual.
