Rental income for two Mayo TDs and golf membership for Kenny

The Register of Interests of members of Dáil Éireann from January to the end of 2009 published this week shows that two Mayo TDs have no other sources of income, while Ballina TD Dara Calleary and Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony have rental incomes supporting their TD salary and the leader of the Fine Gael party Enda Kenny TD has been given memberships of three golf clubs.

According to Fianna Fáil TD Dara Calleary’s register of interests he is in receipt of rental income from a property he owns at Clonliffe Square, Dublin. During 2009 Deputy Calleary was also a non-executive, non-renumerated director for the Ballina Salmon Festival Company Ltd (from which he resigned in October 2009 ).

John O’Mahony TD listed that he is receipt of income from a teaching pension, is a landlord of a property at Mulvoy Road, Galway, and a joint landlord with a share in a shop unit in Claremorris. Dep O’Mahony is also a director, non-executive (non payment ) for Sports Merchandising, Ireland, trading as www.thegaastore.com The Fine Gael TD also owns land at Magheraboy, Kilmovee, has a two bedroom semi-detached bungalow in Oakwood, Ballaghaderreen, an apartment in Galway, and a shop unit in Claremorris.

As for Enda Kenny, during 2009 he was given memberships of three golf clubs as gifts — an honoury membership of the K Club Golf Course, life membership of Ballinrobe Golf Club and was made a captain's guest at the Mount Juliet Golf Club.

Fianna Fáil TD Beverley Flynn and Fine Gael TD Michael Ring have nothing listed in their register of interests
