An intoxicated woman who tried to enter a Ballina solicitor’s locked office was before Ballina District Court this week for being intoxicated in a public place.
At 6.15pm on December 18 2009, gardaí were made aware that a woman was trying to gain entry to an office on Teeling Street by attempting to open a locked door.
Mary Murray, 54 Lower Drumcondra Road, Drumcondra, who represented herself, told the court that she was attending a party in Ballina that night and started drinking early in the day and was deeply apologetic for her actions. The defendant, who has a previous conviction for being drunk in a public place, was given the benefit of the Probation Act by Judge Mary Devins.
