Large turnout for Castlebar Chamber speed networking event

March is membership month at Castlebar Chamber

Some 40 different businesses were represented at the first speed networking event organised by Castlebar Chamber’s enterprise committee under the chairmanship of Tom Canavan.

The event, which was a huge success, was held in the TF Royal Hotel and is expected to be repeated by the chamber given its popularity. In attendance was Business Network Ireland's Sandra Hart who advised participants on how to network effectively. Some of the top networking tips circulated to participating businesses touched on designing a pitch, building relationships, following up, referrals, expanding your network, and informal networking. This event was sponsored by the TF Royal Hotel, Aniar Solutions, and Brian Cunningham Transport.

The next event being organised by the enterprise committee will be New Business Opportunities Ideas through Licensing and Co-operation.

Licensing enables individuals or businesses the right to utilise specific patented technologies for a royalty fee. This can enable individuals or businesses to shorten the product development time, enhance quality of products or process, build a competitive advantage, increase sales revenue, and also enables small companies which may not have the resources to conduct R&D to provide new or superior products. Attendees will be able to find out how to licence a new business idea and find a new marketplace for your business, and much more. People interested in learning about licensing ideas that they may have are also welcome to attend.

This event will take place on March 25. For further details contact Stephanie in the chamber office.

March is membership month at Castlebar Chamber and current members are encouraged to pay their yearly subscription as soon as possible. Membership starts from as little as €20 per month when paying in monthly instalments and given the exciting plans that are in place for the coming year it promises to be good value.

If you would like to become a chamber member contact Stephanie or Margaret in the office on Linenhall Street on 094 902 4845 or [email protected]
