The HSE has sanctioned funding of €3.2 million for St Colman’s towards the provision of a new day care centre in Bunnacurry, Achill, according to Minister of State Dara Calleary.
Minister Calleary welcomed the news by saying that this funding, alongside the €1 million which has been sanctioned from the Department of Community, Rural, and Gaeltacht Affairs Dormant Accounts Fund, and a local contribution of €1 million will provide a “state of the art day care centre, health care, social and catering facilities and an Order of Malta premises”.
Local councillor Michael McNamara also welcomed the letter of confirmation from the HSE as the €5.2 million project is a much needed facility for the area.
“It is a wonderful day for Achill and for all involved with St Colman’s,” The Fianna Fáil councillor said.
