A 19-year-old man whose car had a loud exhaust, non conforming registration plates, and who did not display L plates, was convicted of these road traffic offences at Ballina District Court this week.
John Paul Collins, 36 Bunree Road, Ballina was stopped by Garda Mark Kilbride on October 13 2009 in the Greenhills Estate. Garda Kilbride noticed that an exhaust silencer was not fitted; the registration plates were not conforming as they were hard to read unless standing close to the car; and there were no L plates displayed.
The defendant, who has no previous convictions, was convicted and fined a total of €200 by Judge Mary Devins.
