The students of GMIT, Castlebar have organised a charity rock night in Hotel Newport to raise funds for a number of charities.
Working in association with local music promoter Finbar Hoban Presents, Walter Mitty and The Realists with support from Last Days of Death Country will play at Hotel Newport on Tuesday February 23.
A free shuttle bus will be provided from Nephin Halls at 8.30pm and 9pm with return shuttle after the gig from Hotel Newport. This is a free to everyone attending the event with all donations going to the charities of the week.
The charities this year, which have been selected by the students of GMIT Castlebar, reflect the true nature and feeling of belonging the students have in Mayo. MS Ireland Castlebar, St Vincent De Paul Castlebar, Kerry Mountain Rescue (which recovered one of the campus’ students ), Castlebar Voluntary Social Services, and GOAL Ireland for its work in Haiti are the deserving causes that will benefit.
So this year get involved with the GMIT Castlebar Students Union ‘Raise and Give’ week and show your support to the community on Tuesday February 23 at Hotel Newport. DJ Kenny will be spinning the tunes well into the early hours of the morning and WestCoast Audio will provide sound.
