The Mayo Pink Ribbon appeal will hold a 100km Leisure Cycle on Saturday May 1 with Enda Kenny TD donning the pink jersey to lead a team of 100 plus cyclists in a special fundraising event in support of The National Breast Cancer Research Institute. Starting officials for the day will be Mayo’s own Roses of Tralee, Marita Staunton and Luzveminda O’Sullivan.
The cycle covers a loop of central Mayo towns and villages and is open to all cyclists. Beginning and ending at Days Hotel, Castlebar, the route goes through Balla, Claremorris, Knock, Kiltimagh, Swinford, Foxford, Straide, and Ballyvary. Refreshments will be provided en route and the day will finish with dinner and a party in the Traveller’s Friend Hotel, Castlebar.
