Thirty six new housing units for people with special needs

Mayo Fianna Fáil senator John Carty has confirmed that Government funding has been allocated for the provision of 36 housing units for people with special needs in Claremorris.

The news was confirmed to him by his colleague, Minister for Housing and Local Services Michael Finneran TD.

Sen Carty has welcomed the news and extended his congratulations and best wishes to the Clár ICH voluntary body which was successful in its application for the funding.

“I organised a meeting for a group from Clár ICH with Minister Finneran when he visited Mayo last year and he was very impressed by their proposal. The Department will be in touch with Clár ICH shortly to advise them how best to proceed with the housing project.

“I know that this news will be welcomed by both members of Clár ICH and the wider community in Claremorris. When completed, this will be a wonderful facility for people with special needs from the area and I look forward to continuing to work with the group,” concluded Sen John Carty.
