Improve the skills of your workforce for free

Like staff at Westport Woods Hotel, who were given the chance to upskill and retrain, would you like your staff to be trained in essential skills at no cost to the business?

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen as FÁS is supporting businesses that are currently on short time working by providing funding for the development of their employees. Given the time of year and the fact that many employees are now on reduced hours, this is a great opportunity for business owners.

According to General Manager of Westport Woods Hotel, Michael Lennon, whose staff took part in this pilot scheme, he said that not alone is this a “great opportunity” for workers, but the training will assist businesses in holding onto staff for “the long run”.

Mr Lennon said that around 11 of the hotel’s staff members completed training in November and December of last year and he urged other businesses to think about getting involved and asked them to attend a briefing session which will take place on Thursday, February 11 at Westport Woods Hotel from 9am to 10.30am.

LEAP, Ireland’s premier business advisory company based in Galway, will be hosting an information session for all business owners/managers to outline how you can avail of this opportunity, understand your training requirements, and outline the process for enrolling your employees in this unique course.

Light refreshments will be provided and there is no charge to attend.

To confirm your attendance contact Paula Crowley of LEAP on 091 755 736 or [email protected] by close of business Monday, February 8.
