Based in Achill Island, Advanced Career Training NOW! is the training venue with a difference, delivering not only a range of ITEC diplomas in beauty and complementary therapies, but also offering introductory classes and advanced courses which enable the students to upgrade their skills and fast-track their career.
Advanced Career Training Now! founder and principal Eilis O’Sullivan, an examiner at the recent National Skills Competition at Waterford College of Further Education, with more than 20 years’ experience in the beauty industry, has a passionate belief in continuous professional development. This passion ensures the college prospectus is in constant development, with new courses and workshops added each year.
The college offers a unique back to work experience for those therapists who have been out of the workforce for some time and need to upgrade their skills and boost their confidence with interview/retail and treatment experience.
The unique approach and 100 per cent success rate of the college has attracted students from all around Connacht to both diploma and certificate courses.
Courses are run throughout the year and can be taken on a day per week basis or the weekend fast-track option. Classes are limited to 10 students maximising student participation.
Workshops for February and March include Ayurvedic foot massage, hot and cold stone massage, HOPI Ear Candling. These courses are for already qualified therapists and are a nice and functional treatment to add to any portfolio.
College Certificate in nail technology is also commencing in March. This is an industry recognised qualification and a great starting point for anybody interested in doing nails.
