Numbers on trolleys at Mayo General increase again

The numbers of patients being treated on trolleys at Mayo General Hospital this week saw a slight reprieve but rose again towards the end of the week.

The week started with three patients on trolleys on Monday, this rose to eight on Tuesday, 12 on Wednesday and it was back up to 19 yesterday (Thursday ).

This comes the week after the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation said hospitals were in crisis as the numbers on trolleys nationwide reached an unprecedented 500 last Wednesday.
