Hakomi psychotherapist Rachel Sweetman is now running her popular courses in Castlebar on Wednesday mornings, as well as in Ballina on Tuesday evenings.
The courses start on October 7 and 8 and run over 20 weeks to April 2009. There will be a free introductory talk on Wednesday October 1 at 11am in Lough Lannagh Holiday Village, Castlebar and on September 30 at 7pm in Ballina.
Rachel has over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples and groups in Dublin and Mayo. She runs a private practice in her home by the sea in Carrowmore - Lacken. She also runs two weekend workshops a year there; the next one is on November 24.
Rachel's work focuses on human potential and personal development. The word Hakomi means "Who am I?" It is a practice of self discovery. We tend to mistake the mind and body for who we are. Mindfulness is a key practice in the work.
The course will involve training in, and practice of, mindfulness, with Hakomi assisted self-discovery exercises, and two text books for discussion. The Power of Now by Eckhard Tolle is a great support in the practice of becoming deeply present and aware, and connected to our inner being.
The second book, I Need Your Love, is that True? by Byron Katie, offers a very freeing practice of enquiry into the often unconscious thoughts and beliefs which we are convinced are true, and which keep us stuck in suffering, until we work on them.
For further information and enquiries ring Rachel before 7.30pm Monday to Friday on 096 34766 or 087 960 5639.
