Cura in Castlebar recently marked its tenth anniversary. Cura is a voluntary organisation which offers help and support to those who are faced with a crisis pregnancy.
An unplanned pregnancy, at any time, can be frightening and traumatic. Because we understand how someone may feel, Cura counsellors are there to support and provide a safe, secure and confidential space where you can discuss your feelings with a trained counsellor. We in Cura will offer support while you explore your feelings, worries and difficulties.
Cura also offers crisis pregnancy and post-abortion counselling to boyfriends, partners and parents and to all those facing a crisis because of a pregnancy. Cura is located at the Family Centre, Chapel Street, Castlebar (094 902 4866 ).
Their opening hours are: Tuesdays 11am to 1pm (drop-in service ); Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm and Saturdays 1pm to 3pm.
