Ballina Chamber hosted a very successful seminar entitled Building Business in Ballina last Wednesday in the Downhill House Hotel as part of their Business After Hours series.
Over 60 people were in attendance to hear all about the financial assistance and supports that are available to businesses in the area from Mayo County Enterprise Board and Enterprise Ireland.
Audrey Robinson, President of Ballina Chamber, opened the evening by welcoming all in attendance and thanked her fellow speakers for their time – Frank Fullard, CEO with Mayo County Enterprise Board; Seamus Bree, Regional Director with Enterprise Ireland; and local entrepreneur Leonard Moran.
“This was the first time that Ballina Chamber had put on a seminar in conjunction with Mayo County Enterprise Board and Enterprise Ireland and we were delighted that so many people turned up for what was a very informative evening,” said Sandra Cribben, CEO of Ballina Chamber.
“The session on grant aid was very good and a lot of people were surprised with all the soft supports on offer – by way of training, mentoring and innovation vouchers that are available to all businesses and not just those in certain sectors. The highlight of the evening for many people was the guest speaker Leonard Moran, CEO of Ovagen, who gave an insight into his successful ventures in Ballina over the last three decades with Bio Labs which he sold to Charles River Laboratories and his new venture Ovagen,” continued Sandra.
