The deadline for the Mayo Business Awards has been extended to Friday October 3. There has been a great level of interest to date in the awards and the standard of enquiries so far is very high.
To enable even more entries the deadline has been extended by one week – so get your entries in.
External adjudicators will be employed to carry out the judging in all of the following 12 categories: Best New Business Award. Open to all new businesses established in Mayo within the last three years.
Business Growth Award. Offers applicants the opportunity to get recognition for the growth in their business during the past four years.
Best Retail Premises Award – Open to all businesses who are committed to ensuring that the exterior and interior of their business, the layout and quality of their grounds, the demeanour and presentation of their staff and the overall environment of their premises are of the highest level.
Customer Service Award – retail sector. Open to independent retail businesses committed to offering the highest level of service to each and every customer.
Customer Service Award – services sector. Open to all businesses offering a service that are committed to offering the highest level of customer satisfaction to each and every customer.
Customer Service Award – tourism/leisure sector. Open to all businesses in the tourism/leisure sector that are committed to offering the highest level of customer satisfaction to the customer.
Environment Award – open to all businesses who have embraced the environment concept no matter how small the change is. This award recognises businesses that have put in place measures to improve the environmental standards of their business.
Innovation in Business Award – open to businesses that have demonstrated an ability to recognise and take advantage of opportunities in the marketplace, through business innovation.
Mayo Pub of the Year – open to all pubs in Mayo.
Best New Business Concept – open to individuals, groups or companies who have a business idea or process that they wish to commercialise or feel that could be commercialised by others who have expertise, time and resources.
Irish through Business – open to all businesses located in Mayo. This award offers applicants the opportunity to receive recognition for their achievement in business and particularly those that embrace the Irish language, making it part of their business.
Chamber Recognition for Industry – nominations will not be accepted for this award. An independent panel will choose the winner.

Entries are accepted by email as well as post so send your entry to your local chamber of commerce. The Mayo Chambers incorporate seven chambers: Ballina, Ballyhaunis, Castlebar, Claremorris, Erris, Swinford and Westport.
