Teachers from a Mayo school will go head to head with their Ennis rivals on Test The Teachers, a new RTÉ Two series which will air on December 28 at 10.30am. Catch the teachers from Muire Gan Smal NS, Claremorris, battling it out with CBE Ennis, Co Clare.
Every day in every school in the country teachers are testing pupils, but now it is time to turn the tables. Test The Teachers, which is presented by Paddy McKenna, is a new 10 part series for RTÉ Young People’s Programmes, which does exactly what it says in the title. Pupils get the chance to test teachers from another school by setting questions, tasks, and challenges which they can handle — but can the teachers?
Using skills, abilities, and knowledge gained both in and out of school; the pupils will test the teachers’ sporting abilities, musical prowess, dance moves, and their knowledge of subjects from capital cities and US presidents to nationalities of soccer players and Miley Cyrus songs.
Filmed both on location and in studio, Test The Teachers will feature groups of sixth class students from 20 schools. The series features schools from Cork to Donegal with class sizes of three pupils upwards and it gives pupils the chance to get their own back on their teachers.
The 20 schools featured include city schools, town schools, rural schools, and some from the most remote parts of the country.
