The Westport Woods Hotel and Spa was the only Mayo winner in the Marketing Institute of Ireland west region’s annual awards. The hotel scooped the eMarketing award, following the Mayo Business Awards win in the eCommerce category last week.
Speaking after the event, Michael Lennon, general manager, Westport Woods Hotel & Spa said: “It is very satisfying to receive accolades in the eMarketing and eCommerce area. We see this as a very important area for the hotel and have put significant resources towards developing it over the last while.”
The judges’ comments in both competitions were very positive. The Mayo Business Awards judges said: “This entry demonstrated that Westport Woods Hotel have taken a strategic approach to the topic and have a well defined and well implemented ebusiness marketing strategy in place. As well as being informative their web site is also highly interactive. Customers and potential customers can interact with the business at a variety of levels, not just by telephone and e-mail, but also via live online chat, and via Facebook. They can check availability, examine special offers, and book online. All of this is possible in a visually attractive, easy to navigate, site with all important issues located above the fold. The copywriting is of a particularly high standard, is chatty and inviting. All of these factors combine to make it easy for customers to do business with the hotel and for the hotel to do business with their customers.”
