An 18-year-old woman from Dublin who stole 55 packets of men’s Gillette razor blades appeared before Castlebar District Court this week.
On May 21 this year gardaí were called to Dunne’s Stores, Castlebar, where Natasha Keogh, 9 Rathvilly Drive, Finglas, Dublin 11, was apprehended by security staff after Keogh placed €574.75 worth of razor blades in a black carrier bag and left the store without paying.
Aidan Crowley, defence solicitor, said that the woman, who has no previous convictions, was going through family difficulties at the time and was in Castlebar visiting relatives, with her then boyfriend, when the incident occurred. Judge Mary Devins applied the Probation Act.
