Vision exhibition to be launched

The launch of an exciting new exhibition of artwork in the D’Alton Nursing Unit, Claremorris entitled Vision will take place on December 2 at 3pm. The artwork on display is from the Mayo County Council Arts and Health Programme. This programme has been running since 2004 in five centres in Mayo and is supported by Mayo County Council arts office, HSE western region and the Arts Council. Older people at the Claremorris Nursing Unit have worked with facilitator Breda Murphy to create the body of work you will see on show at the exhibition.

Conversations, an artwork created as an intergenerational project with transition year students from Mount St Michael School as part of the bridging the gap programme supported by Claremorris Family Resource Centre, will also be unveiled. Admission to the exhibition is free and all are welcome to attend the opening. The exhibition continues until January 2010. For more information contact Mayo arts office on 094 9024444.
