During a discussion on the development row at McHale Park at last week’s Castlebar Town Council meeting, Mayor Michael Kilcoyne told the meeting that he was disgusted that the council did not seek to get a High Court injunction following the breach of a warning notice issued by the council.
Town manager Seamus Granahan told the meeting that following legal advice the injunction was not necessary after the council received an undertaking from the solicitors for the county board that no breaches would take place, and that if any did the council was in a position to obtain a injunction within 24 hours of a breach occurring.
