This Saturday and Sunday all roads lead to the Ramada Hotel in Ballina as Midwest Radio hosts an exhibition with a difference. Expose West will feature up to 50 of the region’s most progressive companies which source and manufacture their own products locally. The idea of the exhibition is to give small and medium sized local businesses a platform to market their product to the general public in one arena, and large crowds are expected for the two-day event.
The managing director of Midwest Radio Paul Claffey says that the radio station has put an enormous amount of research into the project and believes that for local companies to survive they must adapt a more aggressive form of marketing strategies in order to maintain their market share and protect local jobs.
Companies from all over Connacht are taking part in the expose and visitors to the Ramada will see a spectacular array of goods and services on show. Among the goods and services will be kitchen, carpet, and furniture manufacturers, IT companies, sculptors, food suppliers, and confectioners. There will also be a strong focus on newly formed companies including a duck-egg farm in county Sligo and a pet farm in Roscommon.
The event will have attractions for all the family with hourly entertainment on arrival from the talented Realta group who recently scooped numerous gold medals at the World Performing Arts Festival in America. Santa Claus will arrive at the exhibition on Sunday at 3pm, and the Midwest Radio stand will also give some visitors the opportunity of winning €50,000 in cash as part of the Christmas cracker safe promotion. Mr Claffey has appealed for the people of Connacht to make a special effort to attend the weekend and has promised the general public that the wide selection of companies on view will offer them value for money.
Expose West opens at the Ramada Hotel in Ballina this Saturday from 11am until 6pm and on Sunday from 12 noon to 6pm. Admission is €5 with family tickets just €10, and all children are free.
