Mayo SPCA are appealing this week for homes or owners to come forward for the following animals.
Rupert is a male tri-coloured collie, who sat in at the side of the road for two days in the Ballymoe area. Eventually someone took pity on him and handed him over for his own safety. He is such a beautifully behaved dog who has all the earmarks of having been a much loved pet. Placid by nature, obedient and in good physical condition, he walks well on a lead and is very good with people/children. Rupert was wearing two collars when found but no identity tag, he is not neutered or microchipped. If you recognise him or can offer a kind home do please contact us.
Sabrina, as we named her, turned up in a garden in the Irishtown area, where she took refuge in an outdoor kennel. She appeared to have had a bad experience and was very afraid, however when our welfare officer called to collect her she got a very friendly greeting, a lot of affection and licks, and Sabrina had no problem hopping into a vehicle. She is a brindle staffie, appears to have already been spayed, is in excellent physical condition, was wearing a collar but no ID, walks well on a lead, is good with other dogs and a very loveable girl. Again, we think she may be someone’s missing pet and are anxious to reunite her with her owners or find her a caring home. If you can help please call us.
Claude is a gorgeous, very friendly young male cat found in the Claremorris area. He will be neutered, is so loveable that we feel he has lived with a family. Apart from Claude our cattery is at overspill with beautiful kittens and other neutered/spayed older cats who all desperately need homes.
If you can shed any light on the owners of Rupert, Sabrina, and Claude, or can offer them or any of our other rescued animals a home then please call Mayo SPCA on 094 963 1888 or 086 803 2592. Our telephone lines are open between 10am and 5pm seven days a week. Please leave a message if your call is unanswered and it will be returned as soon as possible.
