There’s no rest of Kiltimagh this weekend, seven days after seeing off Roscommon side Ballinameen by 2-14 to 0-3, the east Mayo men face into the Connacht final this weekend. It’s only a short hop to Charlestown (throw in 2pm ) for Kiltimagh on Sunday when they face off against Galway champions An Spideál. The Galway men have been in cracking form this season and Kiltimagh’s easy win over Ballinameen is not the ideal preparation for a Connacht final.
Brian Gallagher landed five points over the hour, while Michael Schlingermann saved a penalty in the first half, with Tomás Morley and Kevin Lydon bagging the goals for the Mayo men. An Spidéal themselves had a very facile win over Leitrim champions Aughavas last weekend by 11 points, so both sides will know that each possesses a very serious scoring threat if their forwards are allowed get on the ball enough. Mick Regan will be hoping that his side has an All Ireland semi-final to look forward to, and will have his Kiltimagh men well geared up for Sunday.
Westport look to get over water-logging
Last weekend Westport’s Intermediate semi-final against Geevagh was called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Markievicz Park. The game has been rearranged for this Sunday at the same venue with a 2pm throw in time.
Senior relegation dog fight
Moy Davitts’ 0-11 to 1-7 win over Burrishoole has seen their season finally come to an end. But for the west Mayo men there is one more game at least to play as they battle to keep their senior status. This Sunday in Clogher Burrishoole will take on Ballinrobe in the relegation play-off final at 2pm. The losers will go down, and there promises to be nothing less than 100 per cent given by both sides.
