Five Mayo leisure facilities and spas have received the 2010 White Flag Award.
This is the only comprehensive quality award and measure of standards for gyms, swimming pools, spas and indoor leisure facilities in Ireland.
The Mayo awards went to Beech Club Leisure Centre, Westport Woods Hotel (eighth year ), Ocean Spirit Spa and Leisure Centre, Hotel Westport (ninth year ), The C Club, Castlecourt Hotel (eighth year ), Westport Leisure Park (ninth year ) and the Kingfisher Club, Breaffy (eighth year, fourth as Kingfisher ).
ILAM - The industry body for sports, fitness, aquatic facilities, outdoor, spas and wellness, made the announcements.
This year’s White Flag Awards, which are supported by Ireland’s largest insurer Hibernian Aviva, were presented by Minister for State Áine Brady TD at a gala dinner hosted by RTE’s Michael Lyster in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, on Friday last.
A record number of facilities applied for the 2010 White Flag Award, with 87 leisure facilities achieving the standard and being presented with a 2010 White Flag.
