Ban for man caught with no insurance for a second time

A man who was convicted for a second time in just over a year of having no insurance was given a two year driving ban and fined €250 at Claremorris District Court.

Karolis Murinas, 35 Ashford Park, Claremorris, pleaded guilty to having no insurance after he was stopped by Garda Ciaran McGrath on D’Alton Street, Claremorris on March 23 2009 at 12.30pm.

When asked by Judge Mary Devins why he was driving without insurance for the second time, he told the court that he had no money for insurance because he was not working and he needed the car to get around to find a job. Judge Devins convicted and fined him €750 for having no insurance and disqualified him from driving for two years.
