Liam Horan, the creator of the Championship Man series of radio essays which have been aired on RTE’s Drivetime sports segment over the past three summers, will read from his work at a literary gathering in Aghamore, Co. Mayo, next weekend.
In his literary-reading debut, Horan will read a number of works from his CD The Adventures of Championship Man and Other Cruciate Stories, plus some new work on various topics. The reading will form part of an interesting programme for the Kenny-Naughton Autumn School, on Friday night, October 23.
The reading will be one of a number of events to take place in Aghamore to promote an interest in the writers PD Kenny and Bill Naughton. Both of these distinguished writers hailed from the Aghamore area. Friday night’s programme starts at 9.30pm in Rogers Old Pub, Aghamore. More details on Championship Man can be found on www.championshipman.com, where you can also listen to some of the essays.
