Mayo railway stations compete in Best Station Awards

Iarnród Éireann has launched its quest for Ireland’s best railway station. The pride of Mayo is at stake as Ballyhaunis, Claremorris, Manulla Junction, Castlebar, Westport, Foxford, and Ballina all vie against the country’s other 133 stations to take the coveted title.

Now in its 15th year, the new format for the Best Station Awards will see awards decided by text and online voting by customers for 140 stations around the network. Customers will be asked to rate their station under the following criteria: staff helpfulness, station presentation, customer information, and staff appearance.

To enter by text, customers should text Vote followed by the station they wish to rate to 53799 (all texts charged at 20 cent ). A text will be sent by reply with the four criteria above to be graded from 1 – 5, 5 being the highest. Alternatively customers can vote by logging onto www.irishrail.ie/beststations

All entrants will be entered into a draw to win one of five luxury weekends courtesy of Select Hotels of Ireland, with Iarnród Éireann also providing the train travel to and from the five great destinations.

The Iarnród Éireann Best Station Awards reward excellence in customer facilities, cleanliness, innovation, and customer service in the country’s 140 railway stations.
