Judge Mary Devins gave a Polish man one chance after convicting him of driving without insurance. Slawomir Kozoil, Hazel Hills, Ballyhaunis pleaded guilty in Ballyhaunis District Court this week to driving without insurance.
Garda Martin McHugh told the court that he stopped Kozoil at Hazel Hills, Ballyhaunis on September 17 2009 at 8.09pm and he admitted he had no insurance on the car he was driving which belonged to his brother, but he had insurance on another car and had a valid driving licence. The 30-year-old electrician needs his licence for work, the court was told, and has no previous convictions. Judge Mary Devins told him that he was getting one chance only she convicted and fined Kozoil €600 but didn’t disqualify him from driving.
