Ladies and gentlemen! Presenting something completely different: So and So Circus Theatre brings the dazzling circus theatre show The Hot Dots to the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Monday November 2 at 8pm.
Frank Johnstone and Evie Steele met in 1928. This is the story of two hugely successful vaudeville performers and their spectacular fall from grace. Featuring award-winning London-based So and So's trademark acrobatic balancing and a fantastic story set against the backdrop of 1930s music hall, this show is a real one-off treat. Performed by So & So founders Kaveh Rahnama and Lauren Hendry, directed by Kristine Landon-Smith, featuring design by Sue Mayes and film by Mark Morreau, don’t miss it!
RoolaBoola: Evening shows for all the family
RoolaBoola Children’s Arts Festival is really hotting up at this stage and booking for the packed programme of shows and workshops is at fever pitch at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar. While a lot of the action takes place over the October Bank Holiday weekend (October 24 to 26 ), there is a bunch of tasty shows for all the family taking place during the preceding week to whet your appetites and get you into the RoolaBoola spirit.
Cahoots
A spellbinding new opera for children that tells the story of the child who was to become the best known flautist of them all… the Pied Piper. Using magic, dance, narrative and an orchestra of instruments, The Musician is an original and darkly thrilling piece of musical theatre for children, inspired by classic children’s fairytales. This will take place on Monday October 19 at 8pm.
Batida
“Spaghetti makes you tall,” say the two lanky fellows. And then they cook spaghetti right there on stage! But then their neighbour, who is short and round, wants to join in the feast. A charming, heart-warming, story about irreconcilable opposites, a fun-packed mix of clowning, theatre and live music presented by Denmark’s Teatergruppen Batida. On Wednesday October 21 at 8pm.

Welcome to Jay’s world, where bubbles, a pet pig, mysterious plants, and more come together to create moments of ‘ahhhh!!’ A show full of magic and delight, Ahhhh!! is a gorgeous performance combining music, illusion, and physical theatre, designed with loving care for very young children. Suitable for pre-school children aged two to three years and their guardians. The show is on Thursday October 22 at 10am and 12pm and Friday October 23 at 10.30am.
