The sensational Imelda May comes to the Royal Theatre on Saturday October 30. Having received the award for Best Irish Female earlier this year, she then performed at the Meteor Music Awards. Two appearances on the Late Late Show this year alone including Pat Kenny’s last show, multiple appearances with Ian Dempsey and one of the main acts for The Arthur Guinness 250 Years Celebration have firmly placed her in the hearts of music lovers.
After playing Glastonbury and Electric Picnic this year it is now Castlebar’s turn to get a ‘Boom Boom’ as Imelda belts out some of her addictive tunes including ‘Big Bad Handsome Man’, ‘Falling in Love With You Again’, and ‘Johnny Got a Boom Boom’.
She is a fan of Elvis, Eddie Cochran, and Gene Vincent but it was an album from Billie Holiday that blew her mind. Her music has developed into a jazzier rockabilly style which is now loved by the likes of Jools Holland and Beck. Tickets are available from €27.50 on www.ticketmaster.ie as well as from The Royal Box Office on 0818 300 000.
