The Owl and the Pussycat are coming to town

“The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea, in a beautiful pea-green boat…”

Two very special characters are on their way to Castlebar, as The Owl and the Pussycat make their way to the Linenhall Arts Centre to feature in a new art exhibition.

The Linenhall has already received postcards from Australia and Sweden from the two colourful stars of Edward Lear’s much-loved children’s poem of the same name. By today (Friday October 2 ) they will have completed what has obviously been a tremendous journey back from the land where the bong-tree grows, and people young and old will be able to see their tale illustrated in a delightful and engaging collection of prints, paintings and drawings by artists Gráinne O’Reilly and Cathy Hack, on show at the Linenhall for the month of October. The Owl and the Pussycat will be officially opened by children’s writer Art Ó Súilleabháin on Friday October 2 at 7.30pm. All are welcome. Exhibition runs until October 31.
