Today, Friday October 2, sees the official opening of the expansion at Horkan’s Lifestyle and Garden Centre in Turlough. The centre has been extended by 12,000sq ft, 8,000sq ft of which has already been occupied by a new expansive gift area, plus units leased to Edinburgh Woollen Mills and the Bayleaf Restaurant. Since opening in April this year, these new additions to the Horkan’s offeringd have gone from strength to strength.
Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny TD will cut the ribbon at the official opening of phase two of Horkan's Lifestyle and Garden Centre, kicking off a fun evening.
A cookery demonstration from the Bayleaf Restaurant follows the opening. Be prepared to delight your palate with samples of the food prepared.
A fashion show will then take place with local models, including James Kilbane, presenting a fine display of quality fashion from the Edinburgh Woollen Mills. The fashion show will kick off at 7.30pm.
There will also be music, fun, and pink champagne to highlight breast cancer awareness. Tickets for prize draws for a fabulous hamper full of goodies as well as vouchers for Horkan’s Garden Centre and Edinburgh Woollen Mills will be available with all fundraising proceeds going to the Mayo Cancer Support Association, Rock Rose House, Castlebar.
This service offers emotional support and practical help to people with cancer, their families, and friends. Mayo Cancer Support Association is open from Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 5pm and is situated directly across from Mayo General Hospital. All services provided are free of charge. Services include professional counselling, therapeutic massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, stress management, relaxation workshops, and style and image workshops.
