Three men who were allegedly involved in a serious assault in Ballinrobe during the summer were remanded on continuing bail to appear before Ballinrobe District Court on October 23 for DPP directions.
Inspector Martin Byrne told the court that following an extensive investigation a file has been completed and sent to the DPP in relation to charges against Eddie Sweeney (ground floor flat, 3 New Street, Ballinrobe ), James Sweeney (10 Glendallon, Ballytivnan, Sligo ), and Paddy Sweeney (3 Bog Road, Ballinrobe ).
Eddie and Paddy Sweeney were remanded on bail, while James had a condition attached to his bail that he stays out of Mayo (apart from boxing training in Kiltimagh ) until October 23.
