Castlebar Chamber is hosting an information evening to showcase Castlebar, Everyone’s Invited — the Destination Castlebar project. The event will take place in the Royal Theatre on Monday October 12 at 7pm and is aimed particularly at business owners.
Castlebar, Everyone’s Invited is a destination brand developed to attract greater numbers of visitors to Mayo’s county town. The initiative is set to highlight the town’s retail, entertainment, cultural, sporting, and leisure-based attractions. It aims to encourage the thousands who already visit the county town to stay longer, experience more, and spend more money in Castlebar.
The ambitious project is led by some of Castlebar’s key players in the arts, entertainment, and retail sectors, under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce. The 13-member group have been working together since March 2009, under the name Destination Castlebar.
Already the group is planning a major Castlebar Christmas shopping festival to stimulate footfall and spending in the town in the run-up to the busy period; further events and promotions in the entertainment, arts, and heritage calendar are also in the pipeline.
Now is the time for all business owners to unite forces and work together. The Destination Castlebar project focuses on the key attractions and assets of the town and will showcase it to a wider audience. But before we can do this we need your support and the support of Castlebar. Without it this venture will not be possible.
